Spreading the Joy

Those of you who have met Sid will agree with me that he has a charm all his own. This was evident a few days ago when we drove into town. It was around seven in the evening and we were stuck in the Hyderabad rush hour. Traffic was inching forward but neither Sumi nor I were getting worked up since we had his constant banter for company. All around us were people heading home from work and being stuck in a traffic snarl was not their idea of fun.

Sid evidently had other ideas and decided to spread the joy around. He began waving to the people in the cars around us, accompanied with “Hello uncle” and then blowing them kisses. Soon the cars around us began to have smiling faces, including the normally grumpy cab drivers.

As I looked around the car, I was pleasantly surprised to be surrounded by smiling faces rather than the glum faces I was used to.

Your driving route and timings, please. In this frustrating traffic, I want to try and be around where he is!

he is the only one in that honda city who could carry that one off! if his dad tried it, he would have been banged up, from inside and from out. if his mom tried it, she would have had a lot of outside support but would also have probably landed outside the ‘city’. ur son is playing his age card very well. love u sid.achu!
