Sunday I went to church as usual. I sat there, trying to pray. But I couldn’t. It is becoming increasingly difficult in believe in a God. The prayers make no sense.
As our knowledge base increases, a lot of inexplicable things become clear.
- Earth is not flat.
- The bible does not talk about dinosaurs or any animals that existed before man
- The shroud of Turin is not Jesus
- Earth is not the centre of the universe.
That’s just a partial list. What I am trying to say is that we need God to blame the inexplicable on. We need death to make our lives worthwhile.
More and more I am beginning to believe that “good” and “bad” are the only two constants. We need to cut down the 10 commandments and replace them with just two:
- Do good
- Do not do bad
Jesus, Buddha, Mohammed, were all great men. Their thoughts were great. Their lives were examples for others.
But the religions are just political parties.
Today, the relgious do not remember the people who started the religion, instead it is the “keepers” of the faith, the politicians who are heard and who lead.
Religion in its truest form is lost to the world. It is more and more a commerical venture.
How is one supposed to retain the faith?
